Sugar Lady Co. is a specialized logistics center that delivers frozen foods to several thousand customers daily. It does not sell through retail stores. Previously, when workers worked in a -22°C cold storage and used a paper-picking method, mistakes were unavoidable. Now, however, workers do small, frequent batch picking by dividing several thousand orders into 80 batches per day. The picking operation is performed in a cold storage. Workers pick the total number of each item in a batch, and when the picking operation is finished, a sorter is used to perform the automatic assorting operation. This method enables frequent picking of items in small quantities.
